Details: Does the film have a front and back side? Which side faces down for screen printing? Yes. Touch with a wet finger—the rough, tacky side is the emulsion (printing) side. For screen printing, place it face down toward the mesh, with the smooth side facing the light. Otherwise, the design may blur or not wash out properly. Can I use leftover mixed emulsion the next day? Yes, but store it refrigerated (4–10°C) in a dark, sealed container. Mixed emulsion lasts 1–2 weeks but loses sensitivity over time. For best results, use within 24–48 hours. Before use, let it reach room temperature and stir gently. Can I dry the coated screen under daylight? Absolutely not. Emulsion is UV-sensitive. Daylight and some fluorescent lights can pre-expose it, preventing proper washout. Always work under yellow safe light and dry screens in a dark, UV-free, light-tight environment. The stencil won’t wash out. Did I place the film wrong? Possible causes: Emulsion side facing up (reversed); Over‑exposure; Film not opaque enough (not K100). Check the film orientation first, then adjust exposure time. Can I use a UV nail lamp for screen exposure? Not recommended. Nail lamps have low power and small coverage, often causing uneven exposure or stencil failure. We recommend using a professional exposure unit, or our custom film positive service—ready to use, no equipment setup needed.
